Since joining McKinley Research Group in 2022, Simon has served as a surveyor and research analyst working on seafood, fisheries, and mariculture projects. Specific projects Simon has worked on include infrastructure feasibility studies, seafood market profiles, supply chain assessments for seafood products across Alaska, and economic analysis of key seafood sectors.
Prior to joining McKinley, Simon spent seven years working seasonally as a commercial fisherman across numerous fisheries. Currently, Simon is a member of the Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association and a Bristol Bay drift gillnet permit holder.
Simon graduated from Juneau Douglas High School before earning a bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga University. He currently resides in Juneau.
