Raniyah joined McKinley Research Group as an economist in 2022. She has worked on a wide array of projects including housing assessments, benefit-cost analyses, comprehensive economic development strategy projects (CEDS), and economic baselines and forecasts, among others. She often works with Alaska socioeconomic data, synthesizing it into interpretable results and telling the story surrounding the data.
Raniyah received her bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Outside of university studies, Raniyah has taken graduate level economics workshops, served as a commissioner on Skagway’s Planning and Zoning Commission, and commercial fished the Cook Inlet.
Raniyah grew up in Massachusetts. She has been living in Alaska since 2005 and spent most of her time in Skagway, gaining practical experience in the tourism industry. She relocated to Anchorage in 2022.
