Lori’s work at McKinley Research Group includes evaluation of education programs, project management, and strategic planning. Her research projects have included community needs assessments, comparative studies for nonprofits, workforce development analysis, and health-care program evaluations. She especially enjoys interviewing, editing, and working with groups to identify their goals and means to achieve them.
Before joining McKinley Research Group in 2020, Lori worked as a newspaper journalist for almost 20 years, reporting on commercial fishing, mining, logging, and Alaska Native corporations, among other topics. She served as assistant city editor, design editor, and managing editor of the Juneau Empire, where she worked for 13 years.
Lori has a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She has lived in Juneau since 1995.
