Economist Katie Berry joined McKinley Research Group in March 2017. Katie previously worked for Union Pacific Railroad as the finance lead on an interdepartmental capital project team tasked with development of new business processes and elimination of inefficiencies. In 2023, she was appointed President of McKinley Research Group.

Katie holds a dual master’s degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Wyoming. As a Teacher’s Assistant for the Economics and Finance Department, she led discussions for the Financial Markets & Institutions class and supported instruction of the Behavioral Finance and Banking Management & Policy classes.

In addition to transportation and infrastructure, Katie is interested in issues that affect Alaska including public health, tourism, and natural resource use. Katie recently returned to Anchorage, where she was born and raised.
